Fuel pump outlet grommets (also referred to as outlet seals or outleto-rings) are crucial in building and maintaining fuel system pressure.Many powersports fuel pump assemblies use outlet seals in between the fuelpump motor and the plastic assembly in order to seal the transition fromthe fuel pump to the primary fuel line. If the outlet seal hasdeteriorated fuel pressure will bleed back into the tank which can causea hard starting condition or reduced engine performance. Rubber grommetsare also commonly used as a dampener at the base of the fuel pump motorwhere it comes into contact with the bottom of the assembly canister orfuel tank.
